| While preparing for the opening pre-season fixture of the summer in Biarritz on Friday evening and reflecting on his first weeks at the club, 40-year-old Meyer said: "It is great to be here. I thought I would never coach again when I stopped after winning the Super 14 with the Bulls. I knew it would have to be a very special job to bring me back into coaching - with a club that I think can be among the best in the world.
"I know this is a huge challenge, but I have been very impressed with everything at Leicester Tigers so far. There are a lot of good structures in place, a lot of experienced players and quality coaches, and the work ethic has been brilliant.
"For me, coming here was a sense of getting involved with a club that has the same vision as I have. I want to be the best I can be and my aim for the team is the same.
"I am making no predictions. The only promise I make is to do whatever it takes in terms of work in making Leicester Tigers successful. When you want to be successful you have to give 100 per cent for 100 per cent of the time. That is hard to do, but that is what we aim for.
"If you put the right structures in place, work hard and have the right environment, then the success will come."
Meyer has added Matt O'Connor, formerly with the ACT Brumbies and Australia A, to his staff as backs coach. Richard Cockerill is forwards coach and Paul Burke has moved into a role as kicking coach after ending his playing career with the club at the end of last season.
